DLSF Team Volunteers at United Way Help Center

DLSF Team Meeting- United Way Help Center

On Thursday, October 6, the DLSF Team joined together for a team meeting and service event at the United Way’s HELP Center of Bucks County. The team was welcomed by the HELP Center’s Volunteer & HELP Center Manager, Sheri Ratner, where she gave an overview about the work that the United Way HELP Center does for the local Bucks County community.

The HELP Center, located in Bristol PA, opened their doors for the first time in April 2020 during the peak of the pandemic. The United Way HELP center is a shared space and collaboration between The United, Bucks County Opportunity Council and St. Mary’s Hospital. Since 2020, they have donated $5M worth of goods to Bucks County residents.

The HELP Center partners with large retail stores and receives a variety of brand new items including household items, clothing items for all ages, and food products. The 8,000 square foot warehouse serves as a distribution center, and welcomes anyone in need to come ‘shop’ the floor of items free of charge.

After the DLSF meeting, the team went right to work unloading 2 pallets filled with brand new bedding items and re-stocking children’s clothes. The team worked together and got these tasks done in record timing, leaving the shelves stocked and ready for shoppers. This was a great event where the team had the opportunity to learn about the HELP Center, and make a direct impact by helping unload and organize donations where people in need can come in and shop.

"At United Way of Bucks County, we are all about community helping community. Knowing your gifted time has a real, tangible impact on families in your neighborhood is what makes the HELP Center such a unique opportunity for volunteers. We are so thankful to have welcomed the Danaher Lynch Family Foundation team”, said Ratner.
