On Wednesday, May 11, Conwell-Egan Catholic (CEC) students were treated to a special presentation from the Director of Social Work at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Mrs. JoAnn Duffy. Duffy should look familiar as she was the guest speaker at DLFF’s Scholar Brunch in March. Duffy has more than 30 years’ experience in the healthcare industry and is dedicated to the professional development of social workers.
"I had a great time educating the students on the healthcare and social work industry and answering student’s questions,” said Duffy.
It became clear from the line of students forming around Duffy after the brunch that a follow-up event was needed to allow students to ask more questions about the social work field. Mr. Jordan Schiavo, Director of CEC’s Center for Student Leadership, planned this engaging event as part of CEC’s engaging career exposure program.
