As a part of our Scholar Spotlight series, we sat down with DLFF/CEC Scholar Brooke Bannon to get to know more about her and the various service projects that she has worked on throughout her time within DLFF.
Brooke Bannon is an rising senior at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. Brooke is from Levittown and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Brooke also loves listening to music and attending concerts. If she can spend time with her family and friends at a concert, she will!
Brooke is extremely active within the DLFF community. She is always looking for ways to be involved or help others. Her favorite service project thus far has been the annual clothing drive for NOVA Bucks and A Woman’s Place. “I love collecting the clothes for them and dropping them off,” says Brooke. “It is always great when we see the amount of bags of clothes we collected, and how much it helps those organizations.”
It is Brooke’s involvement in the annual clothing drive that has helped shape the leadership qualities within her. Brooke is always taking one of the leadership positions within service opportunities and other events offered by DLFF.
When asked what she liked most about DLFF’s service learning opportunities, Brooke replied, “The thing I like the most about DLFF’s Community Service Program is being able to go into a shelter or an organization, and having the ability to physically see the impact on others.”
Though many of the students that helped lead the annual clothing drive with Brooke have graduated this year, she says it is her goal to continue the drive this year, raise more money and get more students both within DLFF and outside of DLFF involved.
Congratulations and excellent work, Brooke! We are so proud of everything you have done; we cannot wait to see all the amazing things you do in your senior year.
