As a part of our Scholar Spotlight series, we sat down with DLFF scholar Cameron Browne '26 to get to know more about her and various service projects that she's worked on within DLFF.
Born and raised in Morrisville, PA, Cameron is preparing to graduate this June from Conwell-Egan Catholic High School (CEC). She enjoys spending time with family, playing card games, dancing, and singing. Cameron says that the person who inspires her most is her best friend, Lillie. “Lillie inspires me the most because of her positive outlook on life and her continuation to strive for her dreams! She never lets anything stop her from reaching her potential.”
As Cameron begins to wind down her time at CEC, she is in the midst of planning one of her biggest service projects to date! Cameron is currently the lead scholar helping to plan and raise money for the I Heart CHOP Walk in Philadelphia on Sunday, April 26. She has been meticulously advertising the event to friends, family and scholars to help Team DLFF meet its fundraising goal of $1,000.
Cameron has worked with numerous organizations throughout her tenure as a DLFF/CEC scholar. To name a few, Dance Fairies, NOVA Bucks, United Way, I Heart CHOP, and Holy Trinity School, have been frequent in Cameron’s rotation of volunteering. Each one holding a different type of impact and significance for her.
While Cameron continues to work diligently on her last big service project of her DLFF career, we asked her out of all the service projects she has done or worked on, what was the most meaningful?
“The most meaningful project I got to be a part of was with the Dance Fairies Organization. We arranged a donation drive to collect gently used dance costumes, accessories and shoes. This was the most meaningful for me because I was able to lend a hand in providing the opportunity for other kids to dance.” She also gave an honorable mention to CHOP, “I really enjoyed working with I Heart CHOP and giving back to CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia).”
Trying to juggle academics and multiple services projects throughout the years has been no small feat and did not come without challenges. “It can be a struggle to balance my academics, extracurriculars, and service. However, with planning and staying on top of my work I am able to do it! I use a planner and online calendars. Communication is also key.”
Cameron’s advice to incoming freshmen and potential future scholars is to speak up and pick your own projects when you can. “Strive for your potential. Also speak up and run your own independent service projects.” She continues, “I have grown my passion for helping others and caring for my community throughout my time in DLFF.”
As for Cameron’s future post-graduation, Cameron will choose between Bucks County Community College and Gwynedd Mercy University to study psychology. Her goal is to become a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLC).
We are so proud of Cameron and all her hard work and dedication as a DLFF/CEC scholar. We cannot wait to see how he continues to unleash her potential after she graduates from CEC. Finish out the year strong, Cameron!
