DLFF is a proud partner of Holy Family Regional Catholic School. Our grantee spotlights allow us to highlight the wonderful work of our community partners and see what the impact of our support can accomplish.
How has your DLFF grant enabled your organization to unleash potential?
DLFF’s support has allowed Holy Family to unleash its potential in a myriad of ways. One prime example would be the expansion of our Resource Room and its capabilities. At Holy Family, we understand and appreciate the fact that students learn differently than one another; what some excel at, others struggle with. In the past, we may not have been able to accommodate some of the needs of our students but we have and continue to make improvements in this area every year.
We’ve been able to improve the Resource Room by acquiring more programs, hiring excellent instructors, and expanding our supplies. We find it important that we reach out to our students to understand their learning habits while also building each unique students’ path to success. Now more than ever, we are able to offer more learning experiences and opportunities to our families and students.
Has DLFF’s support impacted Holy Family in other ways?
DLFF’s grant has created a ripple effect that Holy Family has been the fortunate benefactor of. Their support has helped to enhance our school’s reputation in the community. Current and prospective families, and donors have all noticed our growth over the past several years and are now eager to help write the next chapter of our success story.
Because of the Foundation’s support, we’re able to keep our families in our school who may not be able to if circumstances were different. It is no secret that there is a cost associated with Catholic education but the quality of the product, especially Holy Family’s, is also well-known. Families who are eager to join or remain at the school should not have to overcome the hurdle of finances in order to provide their children with a great education. We are thankfully able to offer them the opportunity to stay at the school and continue flourishing. For that, our school is incredibly grateful.
Tell us a story about the impact of DLFF’s support for Holy Family.
Holy Family takes a lot of pride in remaining on the cutting edge. As evidence, one needs to look no further than Holy Family’s morning announcements. To kickoff every school day, students enjoy the morning announcements delivered by their fellow classmates in a previously recorded video. The students who create the content and video are a collection of exceptionally talented young men and women who take great pride in their work.
Students who have an interest in broadcasting, visual arts, video editing, newswriting, and more have the opportunity to receive an introduction to this field through Holy Family’s morning announcements. Students utilize green screens, video editing programs, and much more all in an effort to bring a little joy, creativity, and life to something that is likely mundane and dull at most other schools. DLFF’s kindness has allowed Holy Family to acquire the necessary resources to make the morning announcements possible, allowing us to start every school day with a smile.
What does the future of HFRCS look like with DLFF’s support?
Holy Family is always looking for new ways to improve our operation and unleash potential. Part of how we accomplish this is by staying on the cutting-edge, in every facet of our school but especially when it comes to technology. DLFF helps make this possible by allowing us to obtain state-of-the-art products that range from 3D printers, to iPads and Chromebooks, and even robotics. Our students are eager for a more immersive learning experience that goes beyond the traditional textbooks and notebooks; a curriculum that challenges them and helps reach new heights.
We believe it is our duty to deliver this type of experience. At Holy Family, we understand that the world is constantly changing and with our communities relying on technology more and more, we are determined to offer our students a 21st-century education that’s been combined with the timeless values of our Catholic faith.
Furthermore, thanks to the grant provided by DLFF, we’ve been able to acquire programs that otherwise would not have been possible. These programs cover everything from Religion to typing; from STEM to handwriting and everything in between. Because of these programs, we’re able to add depth to an already extensive and engaging curriculum that inspires, challenges, and nurtures each of our students.
